Half way through

MBA 22 has reached the end of the 3rd module which means we are half-way through the program. I have to admit that in several ways that I quite happy that it is almost over, but in reality I know that I am going to miss the good friends that I made in the program.

The next thing that I am considering is if this program is truly going to help me my future career plans. I am starting to have doubts, but I do not regret my decision to join the program.

  1. half of the program passed huh... i can not believe it...we have learned so much...and not from the books or the professors but from each other - communication and leadership, culture, group behavior. But the strange thing i realize is that some people have very precise plans about their future career and they distinct from some people which they think are not in the same direction. They lose from that and personally i feel embarrassed but it makes me search for communication with them even harder. What do you think about that? Am i wrong and should i go my way if somebody ignores you without reason or is it right to try to prove yourself as a trustworthy person?

  2. Don't worry if you are unsure of what your future plans are. We still have over 4 months. Who knows what my come up in that time. I know personally the plan that I had in mind when I came to the program is now just one option that I have in mind.

You don't have to prove yourself to anyone. If someone ingores than it is thier lose not yours. if they did not want to take the time to get know you than they are losing of a great friend. A friend in which they could have had for life.

  3. Hey again guys, not sure who posted the first comment on this post, but it partially resonates with my own feelings.

We did learn a lot during this first half, but I dare saying that we could have learned much more if people opened up and shared some of their real-life, real-work experiences. I just had this discussion with Lika last night, and she said it's because of people being shy. However, when we got into the program we were told that we're going to learn from the colleagues as much (if not more) as from our teachers. Unfortunately, this was not always the case. (But then again, it might be just me.)

As for being ignored, I really don't give a damn. I know who I am, I know what I can do, I don't realy need anyone's special approval / attention. If people want to respond to my kindness with kindness, that's great! If not, I tried and can go futher. So... try not to be very affected by colleagues ignoring you - there's always someone you can really connect to. (Right, Joey? I think this is going along your opinion...)

Finally, career. I am somewhere between you two. I came here with quite a precise idea about what I want to do with this MBA and beyond it. What I am now is that I find more doors opened towards that direction. True, there are also some new alternatives, but mostly everything goes towards my initial idea of entrepreneurship and managing innovation.

    Best,
    Alex.

  4. Alex, alot of the class discussions are not geared to us bringing in our real world experiences. We spend too much time on the case studies which do not allow us to bring in the outside information. I don't think the class is shy we just are not given the opportunity to speak or use our experiences.
